Philadelphia To Be First Major U.S. City To Ban Minor Traffic Stops

The City Council has passed a driving equality bill that prohibits police from stopping drivers for minor traffic violations, such as expired licenses or items hanging from rearview mirrors. This legislation aims to address the issue of black drivers being disproportionately targeted in such stops. Mayor Jim Kenney is anticipated to sign the bill into law shortly.
