The Paraguayan police are investigating a crime scene where a commissioner was shot dead and three others were injured during an ambush on a convoy transporting Jorge Teófilo Samudio, also known as Samura. Samura, a notorious drug trafficker, was being moved to a prison when his accomplices launched a dramatic rescue operation. The attackers, traveling in four vehicles, overwhelmed the convoy's guards, allowing Samura to escape. In their escape, the attackers set fire to three cars. A large police force has been deployed to search for the attackers. Samura, known for supplying cocaine to Brazil, was previously captured in 2018.
