Japanese speed skater Keisai Ito was the first official doping case at the 2018 Olympics. The Japanese agency Kyoto initially announced his name, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed he tested positive for acetazolamide, a diuretic. Ito claims he did not knowingly take banned substances. He was suspended and left the Olympic Village, stating he will defend his innocence.
