Biden lands in France to meet with global leaders ahead of the 80th anniversary of D-Day invasion

The president arrived in Paris, greeted by a French honor guard, to commemorate the D-Day anniversary. He plans to visit the Normandy beaches, where U.S. forces landed on June 6, 1944, to begin liberating Europe from Nazi occupation. While in Normandy, President Biden will meet with Ukrainian President Zelensky to discuss ongoing U.S. support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. The two leaders will also meet at the upcoming G7 conference in Italy.
