This step is part of an agreement between the US and Russia to dismantle Syria's chemical arsenal. Recently, a chemical attack in Syria resulted in numerous casualties, with the Assad regime and rebels blaming each other. Western countries accuse the Syrian regime of orchestrating the attack.
