Capture of Atahualpa - The Spanish Inquisition - One Minute History

Atahualpa, the new Incan Emperor, is invited by Pizarro to a feast in Cajamarca. Despite defeating his half-brother and ending the Incan Civil War, Atahualpa is unafraid of Pizarro's small force and agrees to meet. During the meeting, a confrontation occurs when Atahualpa rejects conversion to Christianity. Pizarro seizes the moment to ambush the Incas, resulting in a massacre. Atahualpa is captured and held for ransom, but is eventually executed after being accused of inciting rebellion, marking a significant event in the Spanish conquest of the Incan Empire.
