The 19th International Habano Festival in Cuba attracted over 2,000 cigar enthusiasts and distributors from 50 countries. In 2016, Habanos S.A. reported a revenue of $445 million, marking a 5% increase. The company controls 70% of the global premium cigar market, excluding the US due to the 1962 embargo. However, since 2014, Americans can bring up to 100 cigars from Cuba. Further US market access could boost the Cuban cigar industry, a key export product.
