VOICED : Volunteers prop up Myanmar healthcare

In Yangon, volunteers are stepping in to provide ambulance services due to a lack of government support. The government is now beginning to invest in emergency ambulances after years of underfunding. Myanmar remains one of the lowest spenders on healthcare globally, with basic medical help out of reach for many. Charities have been providing free funeral services since 2012. With upcoming elections, there is hope for change, but volunteers continue to support the struggling system.
