VOICED : Petro envía proyecto de ley para que los ricos de Colombia paguen más impuestos

The newly appointed economic team of Colombian President Gustavo Petro has introduced a tax reform aimed at increasing taxes on the wealthy to fund social programs. The reform targets individuals earning over 10 million pesos monthly and introduces taxes on wealth, sugary drinks, processed foods, inheritances, and lottery winnings. The government aims to increase tax revenue, currently at 13% of GDP, to address poverty and inequality. Petro's administration plans to strengthen the state, reduce poverty affecting 39% of Colombians, and transition to clean energy. The reform also proposes higher taxes on oil, coal, gold exports, and single-use plastics.
