VOICED : Descubren centro ceremonial mochica al norte de Peru

Peruvian archaeologists discovered a 1700-year-old ceremonial site belonging to the Mochica culture in northern Peru. The site, a banquet hall for high-ranking individuals, features a throne adorned with fishing scenes and murals of fish. A circular podium was used for leaders to address subjects. The site was intentionally buried by the Mochicas when they moved to another valley. The Mochica culture thrived between 100 and 700 AD in present-day Trujillo, 570 km north of Lima.
