VOICED : Mexico: acusan a la Policia de haber ejecutado a 22 civiles

In May 2015, the Mexican Human Rights Commission accused the Federal Police of executing 22 civilians during an anti-drug operation in Michoacán, where 42 people and one officer were killed. The commission reported signs of extrajudicial killings, including shots fired from behind and from a helicopter. The Security Commissioner claimed the confrontation began when the civilians refused to surrender their weapons. The commission also accused the police of torture and altering the crime scene by moving bodies and planting weapons. The operation targeted the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and families of the victims noted the presence of many farmers at the site.
