A study involving over 19,000 participants aged 65 and older in the US and Australia examined the effects of taking a daily low dose of aspirin. The study found no significant benefit in terms of survival rates, physical disability, or dementia when compared to a placebo. However, it identified a significant risk of internal gastric bleeding and a slight increase in cancer deaths among those taking aspirin.
