In 2019, global carbon emissions stabilized after two years of increase. The US reduced its emissions by 2.9% due to increased use of renewable energy. Advanced economies like Australia, Canada, Japan, and South Korea also contributed by using more wind and solar power. A rise in nuclear power and lower electricity demand further reduced emissions. However, emissions rose sharply in Southeast Asia due to higher coal demand. China and India saw moderate emissions growth, attributed to slower economic growth and more renewable energy usage.
