Gravity causes everything in the universe to attract each other. It influences ocean tides by making the moon pull on the Earth, causing water to move. As the Earth rotates, water accumulates on the side closest to the moon, resulting in high and low tides. Without gravity, the moon wouldn't orbit the Earth, and the Earth wouldn't orbit the sun.
