The story of Rusa and Kulomang is set in the Aru Islands of Maluku. Rusa, a fast and arrogant deer, challenges other animals to races, taking their territories upon winning. When Rusa challenges Kulomang, the leader of the snails, to a race, Kulomang devises a clever plan with the help of the birds to outsmart Rusa. Despite Rusa's speed, Kulomang's strategy allows the snails to appear faster, teaching Rusa a lesson in humility and cooperation. In the end, Rusa regrets his greed and returns the territories he had taken, leading to peace among the animals.
