Zeus, the supreme god, initially married Metis, a wise goddess. Despite her resistance, Zeus captured Metis, who could transform into anything. Gaia prophesied that Metis would bear two children: a daughter as wise as Zeus and a son who would dethrone him. To prevent this, Zeus swallowed Metis, unknowingly while she was pregnant. Later, Zeus experienced severe headaches, leading to the birth of Athena from his forehead. Athena, embodying wisdom and warfare, became Zeus's favorite daughter, while the prophecy of a second child remained unfulfilled.
