Our chiller control box has a temperature reading on it, and we also have a thermometer probe in the tank with a digital readout. Why do you think we have the extra thermometer instead of just one?

• The one in the tank is easier to access so we will be more likely to look at it and make sure we record the temperature every day.

• It is possible for a thermometer to be inaccurate. If we have two different readings we know that one of them is wrong and we need to make sure that the tank temperature is correct for the eggs/fish.
