Active vs. Passive Voice

How can we tell that something is written in passive voice?

• The person or thing doing the action is mentioned last, if at all.

• The sentence is grammatically correct, but does not have the same energy or clarity.

• There is often a form of the "to be" verb in the sentence followed by an action that already happened.

• All of these are indications of passive voice.
