When he returned to his village, his old mother welcomed him with tears of joy. But Malin felt ashamed of her poor appearance and denied that she was his mother. Heartbroken, his mother prayed to God to punish him. Suddenly, a storm came, and Malin’s ship was destroyed. Malin turned into stone as a punishment for disobeying his mother.
