• has always been known as the study of the past

• as derived from the Greek word historia which means “knowledge acquired through inquiry or investigations”

• wrote about the lives of important individuals like monarchs, heroes, saints, nobilities, wars, revolutions, and other important breakthroughs

Historians used to say

• they began to employ other historical sources: Primary and Secondary Sources

• refer to documents, physical objects, and oral/video accounts made by an individual or a group present at the time and place being described. 

• are materials made by people long after the events being described had taken place, an article or a book that uses primary sources 

• These are example of: Written Documents Government Records, Chroniclers Account, Legal Documents, Memoires, Personal Letters, Magazines, Political Cartoons, and Newspapers
