The Lion and the Mouse
One day, a lion was sleeping in the jungle. A little mouse came and ran over the lion’s face. The lion woke up and caught the mouse. He was very angry. The mouse begged, “Please let me go. I will help you someday.” The lion laughed but let the mouse go.
A few days later, the lion was caught in a hunter’s net. He roared loudly. The mouse heard the roar and came quickly. He bit the net and set the lion free.
The lion was grateful and realized that even a little mouse can help a big lion.
Why did the lion let the mouse go?
