The Tashaahud is done after every 2 rak'at of the salah and then at the last rak'at of the salah.

So, take for instance, Salatul Maghrib. It has only 3 rak'at. You do tashaahud after the first 2 rak'at and then another tashaahud at the 3rd rak'at which is the last rak'at for it.

While for the salah that have 4 rak'at, tashaahud is done after the first 2 rak'at and then after the next 2 rak'at.
