To subtract integers you

• add the negative of the positive.

• subtract the opposite.

• just add them like they are.

• add the opposite of the second integer.

To add integers with the SAME sign,

• subtract and make it negative.

• add the integers and keep the sign.

• add the numbers and it’s always positive.

To add integers with different signs,

• subtract the integers and keep the sign of the one with the greatest absolute value.

• subtract and then it will be positive.

• add the numbers and forget about the signs.

• subtract until you get zero.
