A unit rate is a comparison of two different quantities where one of the quantities is expressed as a quantity of one. For example, if you buy 5 apples for $10, the unit rate is $2 per apple.

How do you calculate a unit rate?

To calculate a unit rate, divide the total quantity by the number of units. For example, if you have 40 jumps in 4 minutes, the unit rate is 40 jumps ÷ 4 minutes = 10 jumps per minute.
