Lesson 2: GETTING ACQUAINTED WITH SPREADSHEETS

To insert an additional empty column, we choose:

• In the ribbon Home → Insert → Cell

• In the ribbon Home → Insert → Row

• In the ribbon Home → Insert → Column

• In the ribbon Home → Format

To delete an entire column/row, after selecting the column/row to be deleted, we select:

• In the Home ribbon → Insert → Cell

• In the Home ribbon → Delete

• In the Home ribbon → Insert → Column

• In the Home ribbon → Format

On the spreadsheet, the name box displaying D6 tells us:

• The address of the cell in column 6 row D.

• The address of the cell in column D row 6.

• The address of the cell from row D to row 6.

• The address of the cell in column D from row 1 to row 6.

To move down to the cell below in the same column, press the key:

• Tab

• Backspace

• Enter

• End

To move to the cell on the right in the same row, press the key:

• Tab

• Backspace

• Enter

• End
