Studying things that are small is very important.  Microorganims are very ​ (a)   living things that can only be seen with a microscope. Bacteria is one kind of microorganism.

Bacteria make up gut microbiomes and are found in feces.  A fecal transplant is a medical procedure where a doctor takes feces from a person with a ​ (a)   gut microbiome and puts it into the gut of person with an unhealthy microbiome.
