Alg 2: Factoring the Sums of Even Powers

• Prime: Wherever "n" is a power of 2 (2,4,6,8,16, etc.) for two terms being added together, the binomial cannot be factored

• Prime: Wherever "n" is a multiple of 2 (2,4,6,8,10,12, etc.) for two terms being added together, the binomial cannot be factored

• Prime: Wherever "n" is a power of 4,(4,16,64 etc.) for two terms being added together, the binomial cannot be factored
