How to spot a liar
Advice from three former CIA officers is now available in a new book. It encourages the general public to ask the type of questions that only criminals arrested on (1) of a crime were asked until now. The authors state that (2) changes in the person's behavior give away the hidden truth. They warn that the truth may not come out straight away, so it's important to be very conscientious and prepare numerous questions in advance. Then, when you (3) someone with these questions, there is more likelihood of getting to the truth. The book also shows how such techniques are entering everyday society. Lie detection has even been used in the financial (4), for example, when questioning people about credit card (5). Not everyone agrees with this current trend, but supporters state that such actions are only a (6) because lying is becoming increasingly common nowadays. They also state that if a person is not guilty, they have nothing to fear. This trend began back in the 1990s when the authors had a (7) that they weren't as good at recognizing lies as they needed to be. So next time you're being interviewed, for whatever reason, I'd recommend you think twice before telling a lie, because the truth will almost certainly (8) out at some point.
