3 types of levers

the fulcrum is between the input and output force. it will always change the direction of the force.

ex. a teeter totter

the output force is between the fulcrum and the input force. it will never change the direction of the force. it will always give us a bigger force out then the force we put in

ex. a wheelbarrow

the input force is between the fulcrum and the output force. it will never change the direction of the force. it will always give us a smaller force out then we put in

ex. a baseball bat or broom

distance between the fulcrum and the point where the input force is applied. it is also referred to as the Effort Arm.

distance between the fulcrum and the point where the output force is exerted. it is also referred to as the Resistance Arm
