If you went here with a jacket on you would surely burn up. It's really hot and dry. That's because it barely rains at all. Watch out for the prickly cactus thorns and the rattlesnakes.

If you go to the Amazon, you will be in this lush green place, with tall trees and lots of green plants. But keep your eyes open for monkeys, tree frogs, and jaguars.

It's nice that we have four distinct seasons. I love watching the leaves change colors in the Spring and Fall. The deer and squirrels unfortunately like to cross the street at the wrong time. They must be trying to get away from the fox. Where am I?

Have you ever been fishing? Did you see the frogs and dragonflies? I bet the frogs were sitting on a lily pad, trying to eat all the insects. The place we go fishing is small enough to be in the backyard.

This place is so important to ecosystems. It's where commercial fishing happens. Many of the animals that live here must be able to survive in salt water. We even have some on the coast of North Carolina. The Tar River flows into the Atlantic too.
