A computer  is a machine that stores and then processes information. It is a bit like human brain. It takes in facts or data (the ‘input’), works on it very quickly using hardware and software and produces information (the ‘output’) for us to use.

Even the modern computer is useless if it is missing just two essential parts-hardware and software. Hardware is all the parts you can see and touch-like the monitor (screen), keyboard and mouse. Software is all the sets of instructions-programs-that tell the computer how to process information to accomplish different tasks. A computer is very important for human life. Lots of students now use computers for homework and project researches. Most school records and information about students are now stored on computers. Apart from being able to store a much greater amount of information, this process is very environmentally friendly because we don’t have to use and keep lots of sheets of paper.
