What is the goal of Forbidden Island?

• There is no goal.

• Work together to gather treasures and get off the island.

How many people can play Forbidden Island?

Before you start playing the island starts to "sink". What do you and your team have to do in this step?

• Draw 4 flood cards and turn the matching tiles over to it's blue side. Then put the flood cards in a discard pile.

• Draw 6 flood cards and turn the matching tiles over to it's blue side. Then put the flood cards back in the stock pile.

• Draw 6 flood cards and turn the matching tiles over to it's blue side. Then put the flood cards in a discard pile.

What is an adventurer?

• The pawn you play that has a special ability all its own.

• The pawn you play that has the same abilities as other players.

Where do you put your adventurer at the beginning of the game?

• On an island tile closest to you.

• On the treasure tile that has a statue on it.

• Anywhere you want.

• On the tile that has your color pawn on it.

In the game, on every turn the "Order of Play" goes like this:

• a. Take up to 3 actions

  b. draw 2 treasure cards

  c. draw flood cards equal to the water mark

• a. must make 3 actions

  b. draw flood cards

  c. draw treasure cards

• Play in any order you want. There are no rules.

What does it mean to "move" for one action?

• Jump up and down

• move your pawn one tile any direction

• move your pawn one tile adjacent, not diagonal, unless you are the explorer

• move your pawn 3 tiles

What does the action "shore up" mean?

• turn over a flood tile that is adjacent to you

• turn over a flooded tile anywhere on the island

• turn over flooded tile that you are on or that are adjacent to you

Explain how to give a treasure card...

• You can trade cards if you are on the same tile.

• You must be on the same tile as another player unless you are the messenger.

• Only the messenger can give treasure cards.

• There is not giving of treasure cards to other players.

How do you capture a treasure?

• must have 4 treasure cards and be on the treasure tile

• the whole group must have 4 treasure cards with one player on the treasure tile

• must have at least 2 treasure cards and be on the treasure tile

• you take the treasure that is closest to you anytime during your turn
