After WWII, this event happened. It resulted in China becoming communist.

This is the name of the Nationalists Party that fought against communism in the Civil War in China.

This man was the leader of the Nationalists Party and led the Chinese Republic for quite sometime. The Civil War led to a loss for him. He and his supporters fled to Taiwan when they lost.

After Mao Zedong and his communist supporters won the Chinese Civil War, Chiang Kai-Shek and his supporters fled to this island. There Chiang Kai-Shek claimed that the REAL Chinese government was on this island, not in mainland China.

This is the first communist leader of China. He killed more people than anyone else in world history.

This was an initiative by Mao Zedong to economically and change China into a communist state. It demanded people leave the cities and go to the countryside. It involve din collectivization. It was a MASSIVE failure. MILLIONS of people died from famine, disease, etc.

This sound nice. It is not. It is a time period during Mao Zedong's rule, where he demanded that anything "old" in China must be destroyed. This included people, artifacts, architecture, etc. It led to destruction, chaos, and widespread killings across China.

This was the name for the groups of young Chinese supporters of Mao that helped promote the ideas of the Chinese Cultural Revolution.
