Matthew 7&8

Meditation Verse for Book of Matthew Chapter 7&8:

Chapter 7:  Lord Jesus commands us to refrain from judging or being hypocritical. God is a generous Father eager to give good things to His children when continually asking with faith. By entering the narrow gate that leads to life instead of the easy road that leads to destruction and warns us from false teachers 

Chapter 8:  Lord Jesus' power and authority over every kind of disease, over demons, and even over the weather. 

Fill-in-the-blank:  “Why do you look at the _____ in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your _____ eye? (Matthew 7:3)

Why are we not to judge others?

• He taught them as one having authority

• That we be not judged

• Foolish man

 Are we to ask for things we need?

•  everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened 

•  As we would have others do unto us!

• Because that is the gate that one enters into eternal life.

If we know how to give good gifts to our children, what will our Father in Heaven give?

• 1. because that is the gate that one enters into eternal life.

• 2. as we would have others do unto us!

• 2. Our Father who is in heaven gives good things to those who ask Him!

How should you treat others?

• 1. you shall know them by their fruits

• 2. by your own way

• 2. whatever you want them to do to you

Why are we told to enter by the narrow gate?

• 1. because that is the gate which leads to life, and there are few who find it

• 2. every tree that does not have good fruit

• For it is wide and broad the way

We are told to beware of false prophets; how shall we know them?

• 1. he that does the will of the Father

• 2. you will know them by their fruits, come in sheep’s clothing

• I will know them by their voice

Who will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven?

• 1. where they were saying what good things they had done.

• 2. Everyone who says to Me “Lord, Lord”

• 2. he who does the will of My Father in heaven, liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock

When Lord Jesus came down from the mountain, who followed him?

• the people begged Him to leave their country

• great multitudes

• the leper man

When Lord Jesus went into St. Peter`s house, how was his wife`s mother?

• 1. He himself took our sicknesses

• 2. She was lying sick with a fever

• She was serving food for the multitude
