What is mentorship?

• A person that provides tips on sports and entertainment

• A 'know it all' because the person has "been there and done that"

• A knowledgeable and experience person that provides guidance and nurturing

• A person that is good in board games and TV trivia shows

What is NOT a form of mentoring?

• Guide students and help them become independent leaners

• Make students aware of the resources they can use while in high school

• Help them seek new methods to develop their abilities to succeed

• Show them how to use "google" to problem solve issues & overcome obstacles

A GEAR UP tutor is empowered to provide various forms of mentoring services. Which is NOT a mentoring service?

A mentor can be any of these individuals

• Teacher or counselor

• Parent or older sibling

• Social media influencer or celebrity

• GEAR UP Tutor or GEAR UP Specialist

There are different forms of mentorship that can be provided to students. Which response is NOT a form of mentoring?

• Encourage students to take advantage of dual credit and AP courses

• Encourage students to apply to a college with a real good football team

• Guide students on college applications, admission process and FAFSA

• Assist students in developing organization and time management skills

What is a key attribute in work ethic?

• Showing up to work

• Reporting a couple minutes late to work

• Taking pride in you work

• Wearing the latest fashion
