+Organic compounds that consist solely of carbon and hydrogen are called hydrocarbons. The simplest of these are those that have a simple covalent bond between C – C. They correspond to the alkane family, but carbons can also be bonded by a double (alkenes) ans triple (alkynes) covalen bond.
