Adverbs are words that describe, or modify verbs.

He ran quickly./ Él corrió rapidamente.

• I have read the information.

• I have NOT read the information.

Most Spanish adverbs are formed by adding -mente to the feminine singular form of the adjective.

This ending corresponds to -ly in English.

• I have read the information.

• I have NOT read the information.

Adjectives that end with an a, an e, or a consonant, add: mente:

cariñosa=cariñosamente, elegante=elegantemente, fácil=fácilmente
