What is a Green Paper?

What is a White Paper?

• Published by Parliament, a positive proposal on the format a new law will take

• A detailed examination of a Bill where every clause is agreed to

What is a Public Bill?

• A Public Bill involves a matter of public policy that will affect the whole country

• A bill sponsored by individual MP's, who are chosen by a ballot to present their Bills to Parliament

What is a Private Members' Bill?

• A secret Bill that only certain MP's can hear in Private

• A positive proposal on the format a new law will take
