Extra-curricular clubs

Are extra-curricular (afterschool) clubs important to you?

• Very important.

What do you do at lunchtimes?

• Eat my packed lunch (brought in from home)

• Eat my school lunch (paid for by my parents)

What extra-curricular clubs would you like the school to offer?

• Educational catch-up clubs i.e Maths/English revision?

Are there any particular reasons why you choose not to attend extra-curricular clubs?

• I would rather not say.

• I have commitments outside of school.

• The clubs start/finish too late.

• There are no clubs that interest me.

Would you attend an extra-curricular club if your favourite member of staff was leading it?

• Definitely.

• The member of staff running the club is irrelevant.

• This would encourage me to attend.

Do you believe there is a link between participating in an extra-curricular club/activity and being successful academically?

• No.

• Yes I believe this to be true.

• Not particularly.

The benefits of joining an extra-curricular club are?

• I don't believe that there are any benefits

• There are too many benefits to list

• Physical (fitness)

• Social (confidence, making friends)

I would only consider joining an extra-curricular club if...

• The club started straight after school and lasted longer.

• Enough of my friends joined the new group.

• There is a better selection of clubs to attend.

• House pouints and rewards were attached to my attendance.
