Answer explanation

2

Four correct properties showing how they are similar or different they are.

1

Three to two correct properties showing little or no similarities or differences

Answers may include: For carded cotton Properties include: Low to medium twist, uneven thickness, uneven surface, poor resiliency, strong, more durable, soft, absorbent or slow drying.

For Combed cotton properties include: Medium to high twist, even thickness of yarn, smooth surface, finer yarn, poor resiliency, improved yarn strength, durable, soft, absorbent and quick drying.

While the combed cotton has a higher twist in comparison to carded cotton which has a softer twist giving a looser structure.  This inturns creates a more absorbent yarn but slower drying than combed cotton.  The surface of combed cotton is smoother less fuzzy and more even creating a more refined and quality finish to the yarn.
