What is social handwashing?

• Keeping away from others

• Best hygienic practise for everyday tasks

• Is the same as clinical handwashing

• You never have to wash your hands

If you see water on the floor what should you do?

• Run over the water

• Ignore it and leave it for someone else to deal with it

• Let the teacher know so they can mop, or wipe down yourself

• Pour more water on the floor

If you are allergic to soap given, what is one option?

• Just use water only

• Don’t wash your hands

• Use it anyway

• Let the teacher know, and use given alternative or hand sanitiser instead.

Why should we use cold water instead of hot water when washing our hands?

• Because you can drink cold water

• It is less hazardous, and you are less at risk of burning yourself

• Because its more fun

• Because its better

What is the first step to handwashing?

• Wait for water to be cold

• Have a sip of water first

• Wet Hands

• Make sure you’re wearing the appropriate clothing

How much liquid soap do you use?

• 2-3 pumps of soap

• Finish all soap in bottle

• 10 pumps of soap

• Cover arms

What do you use to dry your hands?

• Air dry e.g shaking hands

• Wipe on pants

• Use paper towels provided

• Don’t dry hands

If rubbish is full what do you do?

• Throw rubbish on floor

• Flush in the toilet

• Alert teacher so they can change rubbish bag

• Leave in the sink

Why should you rub your hands?

• To cause friction

• Remove dirt

• Thoroughly clean hands

• All of the above

How long should handwashing go for?

• 5 seconds

• 20-30 seconds

• 20 minutes

• 10 seconds
