Masking

It is a technique in Adobe Flash CS6 that allows you to hide or reveal certain parts of a layer or object. You can use a it to create interesting effects in your animations, such as revealing or hiding parts of a character or object, creating a spotlight effect, or creating a scrolling text effect.
