What are some big picture ideas for your department or the school, academically? (This will be a driving question over the years that will drive our curriculum mapping and is subject to change as we collaborate and reflect. This same question will be asked of our district leadership and we will form a consensus, upon which we can plan). (This is just a rough draft, we will be doing much more of this over the year)

How comfortable with bringing in lesson study (peer observation)

This would be done on a rotational basis to test out ideas in the classroom. It would be a different teacher each time in order to keep the focus on concepts and students. It would be done by teachers not administration, not connected to evaluations. This is one possible element of curriculum mapping.

Which is more important to you, vertical or horizontal planning? Vertical would be one subject over the grade levels, for example Math 1, 2, 3 or English 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th. Horizontal would be across disciplines, for example English and social studies working in tandem.

How comfortable are your with bringing in professional learning communities (PLCs)? There are different ways PLCs could be organized and it would be up to teachers to come up with custom PLCs to tackle issues. Typically, they might be organized around a subject or department with a common interest. PLCs could, if we chose, be linked to lesson studies, and could be used to enhance collaboration among staff members and our curriculum maps.
