In Chapter 1: We learn about Tobit the father and how truthful, giving, and faithful he was. He
used to nourish the hungry, supply clothes to the naked, and bury the dead. He also taught his
son Tobit to fear God and to abstain from all sin.
In Chapter 2: We learn that Tobit the father did not fear death and he continues to fear God
more than the king. We also learn how he became blind, and even when he became blind he
remained faithful to the Lord and did not lose hope.
