• A law to help slaveholders recapture runaways
• To join territory to an existing country

Mercantilism

• The economic theory that trade creates wealth for a country and a country should do everything possible to try to get as much of that wealth including establishing colonies for raw material profits
• A league or alliance
• To cancel or reverse a law

Free Enterprise

• Economic system whereby the government regulates—not controls—the economy; competition-based economy
• A person in favor of creating a strong central government and ratifying the 1787 Constitution
• To bring goods or services into a country from abroad for sale
