Why should classes be at a level 0?

• It just makes sense.

• It is respectful to the other teachers that are teaching a class.

• That's just the way it is.

• It is respectful to the other students who are trying to learn.

Scenario 1: Ms. Shinsky is teaching a reading lesson. She tells the class to get out their reading books, a pencil, and a highlighter. Bob gets his book and a pencil out. He then decides to get out 4 highlighters and stack them together. Why is this not a responsible choice?

• It's distracting to those around him and his teacher.

• Highlighters are tools, not toys and should be treated as such

• This is not what Bob was asked to do.

Scenario 2: Ms. Shinsky is teaching reading groups at her table. She has a group of 8 students. Jill has a question about the assignment. What should Jill do?
