The oldest of the Council members.  He spoke first when the Council was gathered together.

One of his sons, Eurynomous [yur en’ uh mous], hung out with the wooers of Telemachus’ mother

One son had gone with Odysseus to the war with Troy, and he died when returning from the war.

But knew that Halitherese and Mentor could not help Telemachus get a ship since they were old.
