Involves examining ways in which other markets/persons might use a given product/service with a view to finding innovative applications for it within a traditional market.

A variation on Brainstorming where contributors are divided into groups and each group brainstorms the topic and the ‘best’ idea from each group is presented and discussed by the larger group.
