What is Geography?

• The study of natural and human features of the earth and how they are distributed and connected.

• Large scale map- shows great amount of detail, example 1 inch=2 miles

Physical Map

• Shows natural features such as elevation, bodies of water, and forests.

• is an imaginary line that runs east to west, basically splitting the globe into 2 equal halves

Thematic Map

• 50-260 inches of average rainfall

  Biome in these climates are the Tropical rain forests characterized by thick vegetation that grows in layers

  World’s largest tropical rainforest is in the Amazon River Basin

• Lines of latitude and longitude are shown on maps and marked by degrees. We use the crosspoints of the two lines to calculate Absolute location

• How we orient and organize spatial information in our heads. They can be continually changing and different based on each individual's experiences.
