The parts of the cell

One of the biggest organelles of the cell. It is surrounded by a double membrane covered in pores that allow materials to go in and out of it.

1.     Organelle outside of the nucleus. Produce the cell protein using the information supplied by the RNA. Produce lipids and carbohydrates. It is divided in two types: smooth and rough.

Contains the DNA and is where the ribosomes are made.

1.     Receive proteins from the rough endoplasmic reticulum and modifies them. It packs the protein into vesicles.

They are the “transportation vehicle”. They came out of the Golgi Apparatus.

1.     Responsible for breaking up molecules and cell structures that did not function. It is like a recycling machine.

Responsible for transforming the chemical energy the organism needs through cellular respiration – it transfers the chemical energy contained in sugars and lipids in ATP molecules (adenosine triphosphate)
